Day 06: A song that reminds you of somewhereThere is a stretch of road on State Highway 3 that runs right along the coast. It's just south of Mokau, and in the summer it looks amazing. On a clear day there is a nice view of Mount Taranaki. On a trip home from University back in the day, this song played on my car radio. This song reminds me of Taranaki in general, but specifically that gorgeous coast.
Day 5a: MATT FUCKING SMITH PLAYS THE DOCTOR WHO THEME WITH ORBITAL This MUST get on my MP3 player.

Day 05: A song that reminds you of someoneMy friend from high school, Michael, loved classical music. One time I after school I went over to his place and played this song. A few times we would start singing the only words we knew to it. "Kill the Wah-bit, Kill the wah-bit..." So I guess this song reminds me about either Michael, or Bugs Bunny.

Day 04: A song that makes you sadThere are two kinds of people in the world; those who get emotional with this video, and BAD PEOPLE.

Day 03: A song that makes you happyThis is a sweet song Lily Allen dedicated to her mother, making the simple things in life out to be the most wonderful way to live. How can that not make someone happy?

Day 02: Your least favourite songLets see, cheesy boring tune plus cheesecake is just bland, but throw in a shitty dance move plus weeks at the number one spot and you've got a song that has earned my hatred.

I was gonna made this post yesterday, but then I realized I had that movie meme to post! So here is the meme I was going to post yesterday, but I am instead posting today, instead of the meme I was going to post weeks ago, but instead I posted it yesterday. Right. Anyway, stealing this from 3_2_1_letsdance, here is the 30 days of music meme! ( Here's the list )So let's get this started. Day 01: Your favourite songSo, I'm temping. It's data entry, very repetitive, but they let us bring our own music. One of the things recommended was techno as the repetitive music can help us focus. That makes me decide to put this song on my MP3 player. I love Daft Punk anyway, but this song in particular is just really good for energizing and motivating me. It helps me at work, it helps me get psyched. So for now, it's my favourite song.

inclusive_geeks is for you if you're not a fan of racism, sexism, ableism, heterosexism, transmisogyny, etc. Also, you don't subscribe to the school of It's Only *Insert "-ism"* If You Die.
Anything gaming related (including snarky posts about discourse within gaming communities) can be posted at inclusive_geeks, whether or not it relates to prejudice or oppression. The main difference between this community and other gaming communities is that posts about gender, race, disability, etc. will (hopefully) not become massive wank fests.
I'm very interested in finding people who would like to help shape the community. If you have any interest in becoming co-maintainer or moderator, please contact me. Likewise, if you have any input regarding how the community should be run, let's get in touch. With inclusive_geeks being in its infancy, things are still very flexible.Originally posted by ploratrix over at Girl Gamers. Is anyone going to the Armageddon Convention in Wellington this easter weekend? If so, can I get you to sign something for me? Don't worry, it's just a comic artist, not anything you'll have to queue up for or anything. ;)

Tagged by 3_2_1_letsdance: List seven habits/quirks/facts about yourself. Tag seven people to do the same. Do not tag the person who tagged you or say that you tag "whoever wants to do it". OH HEY I KNOW I AM GOING TO DO WHAT THE HELL I WANT. 1. My right eye is prone to tears far easier than my left. I can be quietly somber about something, and yet still have a stream coming from that one eye. 2. I own over sixty Optimii. Sixty four? I dunno. 3. I manage to retain an alarming amount of knowledge of stuff that is just... irrelevant. Well mostly irrelevant. Like, I can still remember the seven-digit part numbers to for parts to fix machines from a job I haven't had in three years, the birthdays of friends I haven't seen in ten years, what day you had that party and who got drunk and said that thing that was funny. 4. I once completed Super Mario Bros. 3 in less than twenty minutes. I have yet to achieve that goal a second time. Most unfortunate when my friend called bullshit, and I couldn't do it. 5. My favourite colour was blue when I was younger. Now, it is purple. 6. I believe that when something is so bad that it is A Problem then talking about it with the relevant parties is the best way to resolve it. I am baffled by people who don't believe in this. 7. My music taste has been described as 'Eclectic'. It includes but is not limited to; Black Eyed Peas, Korn, Danny Elfman, Mindless Self Indulgence, Led Zepplin, Gnarls Barkley, Muse, Shihad, Bjork, Prodigy... And now I tag people. And I tag... you. Yes, you. You have to do this now. Or not. Whatever.

From ToplessRobot.com:Mattel is currently running a poll for what Barbie's next job should be. These include Environmentalist, News Anchor, Surgeon, and Architect, but the option that I voted for and every single person who reads TR should vote for is this: Computer Engineer.
Ladies and gentlemen, we have the chance to make Barbie a nerd for the first time ever. The power is ours.
Go to Mattel to vote. Spread the word. Tell your friends. Let's make this happen. Not just for the Barbie-doll playing girls of the world, but for all of us. I am totally behind this. Who wants to help spread the word?

Well, shit. My grandmother passed away this morning. I got a call just after I arrived at work saying she was in a coma, then got another call at 12:15 saying that she passed in her sleep. We knew this was coming. At least she was not in pain. However this fucks up pretty much everything we had planned leading up to Christmas. So many plans we made have now had to be changed or swapped around or god knows. This was the year we were going to spend it with Lyz's parents, now it's at mine again because it's just easier when the funeral is two or three days away from Christmas. I'll try and catch up with local people and play santa before we take off for Taranaki, which'll be late Monday. Gah.
Much like the first one, they seem to just want to get everything so right.
